The Laboratory “Roberto Boscaino” of Advanced Materials (LaBAM) is a large experimental research group based in the Department of Physics and Chemistry at University of Palermo. Our research activities address the synthesis, spectroscopic characterization, processing and assembly of a wide range of advanced nanomaterials, nanocomposites, microstructures and bulk materials of high interest for applications in optoelectronics, microelectronics, photonics and beyond.
The expertise of the Laboratory spans a large range of experimental methods. We are interested both in the understanding of fundamental properties of novel materials and in exploring their potential impact towards prospective new technologies. Our research is mostly conducted in our laboratories at University of Palermo but also involves many collaborations with leading groups of physicists, chemists and material scientists around the world.
